Hi there!
My name is Sabine Schmidt, and my passions are traveling, decorating, and creating memorable experiences for people. In June 2024, I turned these passions into my profession by founding Mariposa Stays.
Having stayed in countless vacation rentals and hotels across more than 50 countries, I know what it takes to feel at home right away—and that’s exactly the kind of experience I want to offer you.
I design each apartment with great attention to detail, just the way I’d love to live in myself. I’m especially inspired by cozy boho touches and a warm country-house style.
My focus is on families and groups who are looking for more than just a typical hotel room—spaces where they can live, cook, play, and truly relax.

I had a wonderful stay with my family at the Mauerfuchs apartment.The comfortable beds with luxurious linens and the spacious living and dining area were definite highlights for us. The location was perfect for exploring the Black Forest region.
We spent a week in Sabine’s apartment and absolutely loved it. It was super cozy and offered plenty of space for my family to enjoy a relaxing vacation. The board games, toys, and large TV were perfect for evenings and rainy days.
Lovely, spacious apartment.We stayed here with 4 adults and 2 children. Communication with the hosts was excellent. The apartment is in a quiet yet central location, close to many great attractions.We’d love to come back!
